Dr. Schmitt is a patient first and a doctor second, meaning, anything he prescribes to his patients he has likely tried out on himself first. Preventative medicine, nutrition,  and whole-body wellness also strongly influence how he views his role as an eye care provider.

During an exam with Dr. Schmitt, you can expect technology-driven education regarding your eye health and vision. Typically complex concepts will be stripped of mysterious jargon. This allows each patient to help advocate for themselves. At the end of your exam, you and Dr. Schmitt will create tailored solutions that align with your visual needs and goals.

At home, Dr. Schmitt is a husband and proud father of three kids. He also enjoys mountain biking, producing short comedic films, and reminiscing about a former, child-free life when he'd frequent one of Portland's many incredible restaurants with his wife, Brooke.
